You are welcome to the Energy, Environment, and Economic Decision making laboratory. The underlying focus of our research efforts is the application of operations research methods to environmental and energy economics, and policy. Professor Baker's current research program revolves around how uncertainty impacts global climate change policy in a strategic environment. Specifically, some questions we are addressing include:

• Is a technology policy a useful hedge against uncertain catastrophic damages from climate change?

• What is the impact of uncertainty on equilibrium emissions if there is an uncertain threshold of emissions beyond which damages are catastrophic?

• How much should be invested in climate technology R&D?

• How should R&D be allocated among possible research projects?

• What role should deployment policies play in moving emerging technologies to market and spurring innovation?

• What sorts of near-term efforts to constrain greenhouse emissions are appropriate?

• To what degree should emissions be constrained?

• How should the burden be spread among sectors, regions, and nations?

We have a number of funded projects aimed at addressing many of these questions and issues.
